Be Careful to READ forum posts non-disruptively

**** This post seems to have caused an awful lot of disruption. One who "Once called me a friend" advised it should come down. Following his advice it has been removed. *********

  1. I find it strange that you are surprised to have been banned on the Wyrd boards. I think the purpose of a ban is to remove those who are disruptive to the board and I can't think of anyone more disruptive to the board, and all of the Malifaux community, than someone who announces to the world their intention to take over Wyrd's IP and do with it whatever they like.

    1. LOL, I know Wyrd has said this but its funny to see the fanboys accusing Bill of trying to steal their IP. He wanted to start a fan site for an old edition, that's hardly taking over an IP.

The point is all that BS tension was months ago and Bill had been a model forum poster since then. The ban seems uncalled for, especially with no notice or warning.

    2. Most people will find that even when I was "so inflammatory" on the boards it was not what seems to be portrayed. Doing a search on my Nix posts will let anyone read what they want. I only seem to have had 1 post ever deleted, and that was mentioned on the blog.

    3. "I can't think of anyone more disruptive to the board.."

What kills me is that it looked like the drama was over. Bill had moved onto WWX, SoCal Malifaux got really lazy and just channeled their efforts back into Dan Weber worship. Bill knows why he banned, and it's not because of his posts. This was a dumb and unnecessary epilogue to the whole M2e Manbaby Fracas.

    4. Honestly, and with all due respect to Wyrd...How the HELL was Nix banned, and not Ausplosions?! Seriously, that is bullshit. of the two, ausplosions has spent far more time, and more recently being a a troublemaking troll and disruptive influence than nix ever did.

    5. Because *I* am not trying to force a company to allow me to use their IP for whatever I would like however I would like on my terms. Nor am I effectively telling people that this is ruining a game. Nor am I releasing things covered by NDA.

I *am* abrasive, but not just for the sake of it. I dislike arse hats who deliberately try to ruin a game for people and who try to railroad people into doing things their way or the highway.

And Nix was NOT removed because of dissent, Eric has stated it was for legal issues.

      So eat me.

  2. Haters gonna hate, and it swings both ways!
Hope you and Gamer's Lounge, will get back to Malifaux eventually!

    1. Not highly likely but there may be some more discussion. Now that Dixon is back in the area my group of people willing to play non-M2E Malifaux has grown by 1... to 3.

  3. Think no evil, apparently.

Damn though, sorry to see you get the boot.

    1. edit: You get the 'warning' day long bans they talked about or did they skip straight to castration? Just want to know how lightly I should be treading.

    2. No warning or anything of the sort. Eric did tell me to call him on Tuesday of this week when I emailed him and Nathan to ask about the reason why. I called his mobile around 11am his time, no answer. I left a message and have not heard anything.

Overall its pretty funny if you take a moment, step back, and then look at the whole situation. Pretty damn funny.

    3. Fabrege eggshells it is then. I love the game but I'm starting to seriously dislike the folks that make it.

Sort of makes you yearn for the days of g-dubs malignant neglect. At least they didn't actively insult you for looking at the rules or criticizing the art.

  4. Nix, you've handled yourself extremely well. Keep up the positive attitude. Wish I was more like you.

  5. Its true that Nix kept his wyrd-forum posts from becoming inflammatory but maybe you can check out the blog that Nix writes where he did nothing but shit all over the m2e beta, the developers, and many of the fans. Did you not think that wyrd-forum nix would be judged based on what dead-tau nix said, maybe on the "assumed to be private emails" that m1e nix posted?

    1. Excellent information, Spifferson. Should do some research before applying praise.

    2. It's their forum, they are in the right to take any actions they wish. As mentioned, I find the ban amusing especially when compared to the stance that has been taken by Wyrd on in their posts. The timing adds to my amusement, as this was not done when Eric was having his rant on the forum, but instead is being done now when things are getting fairly quiet. It's almost like things had slowed down and they (he?) expect I will react, thus raising some level of excitement. With a smile and a chuckle I am happy to oblige.

    3. Of course its there forums so they can do what they want, but the fact is Nix did not break any forums rules. Even if he did he should have received a warning or a temp ban. I personally don't like to be on forums where people can be banned without notice.

  6. I heard that it was a preemptive ban. With the wave 2 open beta approaching the designers are going over some of Bill's favorite masters. A friend of mine caught a glimpse of the Colette design notes and one of them was -Ban Nix from the forums to avoid Colette hissy fit.

  7. What happens if you type nix into the forum, does it do the same as mchammish yet? That would be the ultimate compliment!
