Wow, bandwidth exceeded and no more looking at pictures form Photobucket.

I think I am going to look for another way to post pictures. As soon as I have it set I will update the Blog.

I picked up one of the new Citadel Airbrushes during Games Day. It was a fairly cool event, as I was stood in line behind 2 gamers who were considering grabbing the airbrush. Come to find out, the 2 airbrushes on the table were the last 2 available at Gamesday (and this was 10:20 am). As soon as the gamers stepped away from the table without the airbrushes, I grabbed one and the gentleman behind me grabbed the other.

So I cracked it out last night and loaded up some grey. I let loose on some BfM crashes lander terrain and the results are very smooth. Overall I love the new airbrush, I can see how this will speed up painting overall. I am looking forward to using it with the new washes when they arrive.

The first picture is airbrushed Adeptus Battlegrey (foundation paint) over black primer.

Here I did Adeptus Battlegrey (foundation) over black primer. Then I went back and airbrushed some Chaos Black over the grey to create some burned areas of the wreckage.

A picture of the same technique above, on a larger piece.

Overall I have some work to do with the airbrush, but it does not coat paint on so thick that it obscures details. As this is my first time using an airbrush, I am sure my technique will improve.

Baltimore Games Day - WHFB Dark Elf Preview

So Gamesday Baltimore 2008 was not as good as past years. Even with that being said, we had a great time and I got to look at the new Dark Elf models and some of the rules. I even got some great pictures of "tactical notes" and an army list. The tactical notes detail some of the new Dark Elf rules, and the army list is a 2K list with points for the units.

First, the Notes and Army list.

I have to say that the Supreme Sorceress model is my favorite model so far from the new range. This is a great model.

I really liked the Dreadlord model.

The new assassin.

This is Lokhir, a new character model. I believe he is a Corsair character, but I do not understand the Squid Face!

When I saw the previews of the army box, I did not like the look of the Hydra. I have to admit I was very wrong. The War Hydra looks incredible. These are 2 different Hydra's that were out.

Here are the new Dark Elf Corsairs. These look great and the paint job was fantastic! The top two are of the banner bearer from 2 different angles.

Dark Elf Cold One Knights. I think these look great but not as heavy as the current models. I am very torn on which I like better and I actually think that both models would look great in a Dark Elf Army.

I am also updating my photo album for the Golden Demon 2008. I got some good pictures, before I ran out of room on the camera. The link is here, I will be updating it as I crop the pictures.

Well, I completed the Eldar Warp Spider Exarch from the previous post. Here are a series of pictures with him on the base.

I am using the larger base for the Squad Exarchs so I can model some scenes. I do not believe this will be an issue with game play, but we will see.

I got some feedback that my paint was still too thick. I am not seeing it but I need to figure out why I am getting that feedback so I can improve.

Comments and Critique always welcome!

What the hell? An actual Eldar?

What could that be? Wait, It might actually be an eldar? As unbelievable as it may seem, I actually have returned from the realms of WHFB and the Dwarfs to painting and modeling my Eldar.

So here are pictures of my newly modeled and painted Eldar WarpSpider Exarch. If you look further down the blog you can see the layout prior to construction and painting. I noticed once I took the pictures that I have some touching up to do, but overall this is how he looks.

I still have to mount him on a base. He will be mounted on some rocks slightly above a crouching Tau looking at its marker light. The pose should set the Exarch just about to strike with his power blades.

Comments are welcome.
